Who we are

What we process, and why
- Contact form. Your name, email address, organization (optional), the capacity in which you write (an education institution, an open-source contributor, an NGO or researcher, a foundation or funder, or other) and your message. We use them to answer your request and to carry on the conversation. Basis: steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about the initiative (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Email. If you write to us by email, we receive your address, your name if you give it, and the content of the message. We use them to answer you. Basis: the same as for the contact form. The message is stored with our email provider.
- Spam check. The page that holds the contact form loads Google reCAPTCHA. Google receives data from your browser, such as your IP address, cookies, device and browser details and how you interact with the box, to tell people from automated programs, and handles it under its own privacy policy and terms. Basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam. Nothing from this check loads on the other pages. If you prefer not to use the form, write to office@kidgarten.com instead.
- Server logs. The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes technical data such as your IP address, the page requested, date and time and browser type, as far as needed to deliver and secure the site.
What we do not do
We set no cookies of our own, run no analytics or advertising trackers and load no fonts or scripts from third parties, apart from reCAPTCHA on the page with the contact form. If you choose a colour theme with the switch in the header, your choice is kept in local storage in your browser, on your device, and is never sent to us. We do not sell personal data.
Who receives the data
- Netlify: hosting, and storage of the messages sent through the form.
- Google: the reCAPTCHA check on the page with the contact form.
- Our email provider: the mailbox behind office@kidgarten.com.
- No one else, unless the law requires it.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Netlify and Google are based in the United States. Transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area rely on the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep a message, from the form or by email, for as long as it takes to answer it and follow it up, and then delete it. Server logs and reCAPTCHA data are kept by Netlify and Google under their own policies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase and restrict your data, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to its processing. Use the contact form or write to the registered office, and we will reply within one month.
You may also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or to the authority of your own country.
Children
This site is for organizations and the adults who work with them. It is not aimed at children, and the form asks for no data about them.
Changes
When something changes we update this page and the date at the top.
